Hatzimichalis Merlot Yataki Vineyard, 14.5%, 0.75 L

Classification – dry red wine, PGI Atalanti Valley.

Grape variety – Merlot 100%.

Vineyard – single vineyard “Yataki”, on the outskirts of Mount Knimis in the Atalanti Valley, at approximately 250 m above sea level. The vineyard is not irrigated.

Vinification – classic red vinification under controlled temperature, followed by 12 months of maturation in 228 L French oak barriques.

Appearance – deep ruby.

Aroma – concentrated black fruit aromas of black cherry, blueberry and blackberry, with kirsch, sweet spices, damp wood and vanilla.

Palate – medium to full-bodied, with soft tannins, black fruit, spice, chocolate and subtle herbaceous notes. The finish is long and complex.

Food pairing – meat casseroles, grilled red meats, roasted pork, duck with light sauces, stuffed turkey, beef Bourguignon and rabbit ragù.

Serving temperature – 15–18 °C.
