Dougos Rapsani Old Vines, 13.5%, 0.75 L
Classification – dry red wine, PDO Rapsani.
Grape variety – Xinomavro 65%, Krasato 25%, Stavroto 10%.
Vineyard – old bush vines on the southeastern slopes of Mount Olympus in the Rapsani zone, at approximately 600 m. The vines are around 70 years old and are cultivated at low yields.
Vinification – classic red vinification from low-yielding old vines, followed by 18 months in 300 L French oak barrels and a further 12 months in bottle.
Appearance – translucent garnet with a brick-colored rim.
Aroma – savory and mineral, with herbs, incense and bright red fruit.
Palate – structured yet elegant, with fine tannins, freshness and a long finish, showing clear potential for further bottle aging.
Food pairing – slow-cooked, grilled or roasted meats, particularly lamb and goat.
Serving temperature – 16–18 °C.
