Lyrarakis White, 12.5%, 0.75 L
Classification – dry white wine, PGI Crete.
Grape variety – Muscat of Spina 85%, Vidiano 15%.
Vineyard – vineyards in the Alagni area of central Crete, at approximately 480 m, on clay-loam soils.
Vinification – hand-harvested during the last week of August, with the two varieties vinified separately. After destemming, almost uncrushed berries remain in the press under reductive conditions for approximately 6 hours. The final blend is selected by tasting for freshness, texture and aromatic balance.
Appearance – pale yellow.
Aroma – rose petals and white flowers, citrus peel and subtle mineral notes.
Palate – long and full-bodied, with vibrant acidity, excellent balance and an intense aromatic mouthfeel.
Food pairing – Cretan fennel pies, saffron risotto, pasta with white sauces, shrimp spring rolls and Thai or other mildly spicy dishes.
Serving temperature – 10–12 °C.
